well, I'm thoroughly enjoying being part of the online world so far. so thankyou to my readers, which consist of my dad, and my best friend. hopefully that number will rise in time to come!! haha
anyway, I thought I would just let you know, that I have updated my website, I am happier with it that I have ever been before.
I am trying to get to a point were it is an easy interface to use, because some websites can be so cluttered, and I'm a cluttered person, so I'm trying to de-clutter!
here's the link

So I'm currently getting on with my dissertation.
Thre subject I have developed into researching and discussing is the depiction of Victorian Society in Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite Art.
I adore the Pre-Raphaelite paintings, and I have learned so much about them and their work this year. However, my subject has altered dramatically throughout the year, I first started off looking into the women of the Pre-Raphaelite Artwork, of course I am extremely interested in the subject, but, found it extremely difficult to write about it without it turning into too much of a passionate review or something haha.
I've kind of swayed from looking at the obvious brotherhood members, such as the rossetti brothers and millais, but actually talking about the works of Ford Maddox Brown. I'm interested in his work more so, after visiting the Manchester Art Gallery, Ford Maddox Brown: Pre-Raphaelite Pioneer exhibtion. I love his work!!
I'm enjoying writing my dissertation, just trying to collect all of my information together and form it into easy reading.... Quite difficult, especially when I have 8000 words to write.
if anyone has any ideas, please don't hesitate to help me out. As you know, I'm rather new to Blogspot. I'm actually finding it a little difficult to navigate around, I know it's pretty simple. I just need to get used to it haha.
Thought I'd leave you with something I did last term, when I was exploring female identity and the 'typical' image of the Pre-Raphaelite muse.

Hi there! My name is Emma Gough and I am an artist living and working on the Wirral. A few people recently have been trying to persuade me to get a Blogspot Blog, instead of just using the one that is automatic to my website. (http://www.emmagough.weebly.com/) So here I am, forcing myself into the world of wider networks!!
I'm hoping that blogspot may open me up to making new freinds, and learning a lot more about other current artists and writers and other really talented people. It will also allow me to write too.
I am currently working on artwork displaying and exposing the extreme lengths that women go to, to make themselves attractive. I am painting the process of the application of make-up. To do this I took continuous photographs of myself applying make-up and I've started working from these photographs.
I am calling the series 'Ritual'
these paintings are Oil on Canvas, 18inches x 24inches
